On the second day, you will meet the mountain gorillas.
After breakfast, you will depart from your accommodation and drive to the Kinigi Park headquarters, where you will receive a briefing about what you can and should not do during your gorilla trekking tour.
Together with your group, tracking gear, food, and a porter for the backpack (if you want one), you will move into the bamboo forests for your gorilla tracking experience.
Sometimes the search takes just 30 minutes, but can also take up to several hours, depending on how deep the gorilla family has moved into the forest searching for water, food, and shelter.
Once you meet the gorillas, you will enjoy at least one hour interacting with them; as they eat, play, and tease each other. After taking videos and photos, and observing these intelligent animals, you will hike back to your starting point.
In the afternoon, you have the option to head out for a visit to the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.
